French Door lock

Polish, polish, polish.

Rub, rub, rub.

Original French door lock, which had been painted cream, stripped back to its original finish.

It's all I ever seem to hear around here lately.

Kodak moment captured just before I went to bed.

Until last night when at 10 o'clock in the evening, Jason was changing some plastic door knobs with some new brass ones.

I heard the faint sound of Jason muttering, "C'mon! You PRICK!" to the French door, as I drifted off to sleep.

The new brass never looks as good as the aged stuff, but time will work its magic.
This French door will need to be sanded and re-painted down the track.

Polish, polish, polish

Rub, rub, rub...

...will continue until further notice.

  1. Nice knob, Bris. I love the way us blokes insult inanimate objects - it must be so entertaining to listen as you drift off to sleep, with Jason is tearing his hair out.

  4. Gee he must be pretty hyped up by the time he comes to bed. Maybe a cup of warm milk is in order.

Love love the lock. That would have been a lot of work getting that paint off.

  9. I shrieked in horror & then thought of you and your previous postings about painted door knobs when I discovered a recently painted one on the verandah side of our bedroom french door. What the #*#*? Sad thing is that I can't remember whether it was painted prior to the painter giving it a new coat. Don't fancy having to swear at the knob to get it back to its original condition but boy does it look 'shithouse' at the moment!

  12. Nice knob :) I call stuff a prick all the time when it doesn't do what I want it to do. On the weekend my neighbours were laughing at me out in the back yard calling the macadamia tree one because I couldn't reach the branches I wanted to trim.
