A new project

Work is under way at the Sow's Ear...I'll give you a few hints.

It involves VJs

VJ walls (vertical join) showing the patina of age

Some unnecessary hi-vis...

Dapper Jason has embraced his new Fun and VJs uniform

And a bit of hard yakka to keep us out of mischief...

Beautiful ceiling rose

All shall be revealed soon...

So, how was your weekend?

  2. Intriguing..

All the layers of history revealed under the old picture rail. Love the blue.

Out in the garden this weekend.. it's actually stopped raining. Maybe for a week. Have I left England without realising it?

  3. Oh sweet, sweet ceiling rose.
How I wish to lay below you and look up at you and marvel at your beauty.

I really don't know how people can diss the ceiling rose, or any other ornamental plasterwork for that sake.

  4. As the apprentice did you don the orange and blue? You'd be so cute as one of those couples that dress the same. Can't wait to see the room come together. Xx

  5. It's always interesting to see the colours exposed on walls that other people have chosen in the years gone by.

  7. Jason, the high vis is hurting my eyes. May I suggest something more... skin toned! Can't wait to see what you are up to. Is the picture rail off for good?

  9. Oooh, keep us in suspense! I wonder just how many layers of paint you have on your walls. Love the ceiling rose - what happened to that level of craftsmanship? Look forward to the big reveal! xx

  10. Thanks for your comments everyone.
Deb, Jason will do a skin-tone special just for you.
Caroline, I thinks there's only four or five layers. And I agree re the craftsmanship on the ceiling rose. They are really beautiful. xx

  11. The ceiling rose is so exquisitely crafted. What a gem! I love to see old paint colors on wood. A few chips on my kitchen cabinets have revealed a coat of white and a very cheery yellow underneath the current avocado green. It always makes me wonder who painted them and when.

Can't wait for the big reveal!
