The exterior house painting has been amped up another notch with Jason borrowing his Dad's painting trestles last weekend.
Expect a lot more exterior house painting posts from now on. The plan is to get the entire back end and sunroom side of the house fully painted.
The painter's trestles are aluminium and weigh a lot less than you'd think by looking at the size of them. They even have adjustable feet to make them stable on uneven ground.
Also, thanks for all your comments about our chandelier disaster. Some of you are truly hilarious and fortunately we have a sense of humour about the nuisance things that happen around here.
I need to make a very special mention to The Moerks for her comment about Warwick Capper (former Australian Rules football player).
And of course to Mr Rooney who retold, almost verbatim, the conversation we had while Wazza was hanging the chandelier. A classic rendition.

It's raining trestles around here! |

Would you let this man hang your chandelier? image from here |
Don't get Wazza to put up any trestles for you, will you? The beauty of the outside posts will be that you won't have any chandeliers crashing down on you!!
ReplyDeleteWhat Jason lacks in painter's tresses, he makes up for in painter's trestles.
ReplyDeleteYour house is going to look spectacular ... irreplaceable Italian-glassed chandelier or no irreplaceable Italian-glassed chandelier.
Warwick Cappa - gives me the creeps! I can't wait to see more of your painting posts. I look forward to the day we start on the outside. Is Jason doing most of it himself or are you getting in painters? ;-)
ReplyDeleteHi Jenny. Jason's it. A weekend painting warrior. It's going to be slow. One side at time. xx
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see the outside transformation. Tread carefully Jason.
ReplyDeleteThe hedges on your side fence are looking great and are well on their way. Your garden looks so neat and tidy. Mine still has a lot of work to do.
Nice trestles...good for little boys to try to climb I thought. We know where Jason gets his painting genes from now. If his Dad owns trestles he must be a keen painter.
ReplyDeleteI feel a broken leg or two coming on. Let's hope he lands on the grass, or that Warwick didn't build the balcony on the other end of that platform.
ReplyDeleteP.S. That Football player looks very gay, but I only feel safe in saying that because I live on the other side of the world.
ReplyDeleteI am glad we are a few hours apart, 'cos if that's cream and black that you are painting the outside they are the same that I have set my heart on for this place. On the other hand your new paint may be old by the time we actually ever get around to it! It just proves though..that they look fabulous together...cream and black that is.
ReplyDeleteI am curious about that rain barrel. We are just starting to get them here, but they are the size of a trash can.
ReplyDeleteI am so surprised that your table didn't get damaged when the fixture fell.!
Anita, what's that Thing? The cylindrical shiny Thing? It's just that I don't have one myself, and I always hate to feel I'm missing out.
ReplyDeleteLove the tank. It is great to see a metal one instead of the plastic ones...quite a feature!
ReplyDeleteOhhh he is creeping me out too! Good luck Jason, it looks like a big job.
ReplyDeleteMise, it is a rainwater tank. Brisbane was in drought a few years ago and all the dams were almost empty. There were tight water restrictions and people installed rain water tanks to keep their gardens alive. xx
ReplyDeleteCan Jason come down and paint our house when he's finished with yours?? Pretty please??? Love the rainwater tank, so Aussie!
ReplyDeleteI know it's bad, but I kinda feel a smidgen sorry for Wazza!
cooool rain tank. i worked in a greenhouse that used them for irrigation. i used it as a hot tub one night after drinking homemade portuguese wine :)
ReplyDelete~laura xx
We borrowed trestles from the parents 14 years ago and they have never gone back!Oh that poor chandelier.
ReplyDeleteOh I see. I want one too. It looks so shiny and futuristic. My neighbours will be baffled by it.
