Transformed

I'm not the maudlin type. However, I can't help it when I think about this little guy, who went from this ...

Son #3 crawling  in the sunroom when we took possession of the Sow's Ear

Son #3. one year old,  on the deck at the Sow's Ear
Watch and learn, Son.
This was taken our first year in the Sow's Ear when Jason put up VJ in the master bedroom

to this...when he started school today.

First day at school
Pixelated to protect the innocent.
In the top left hand corner I had to pixelate this kid who was going for broke scratching his crotch!
While we've been busy trying hard to transform the Sow's Ear over the past three years, he transformed into this little school boy.

  1. OK so what was more challenging for you, No 1's first day or No 3 starting school? I've still got years before all mine walk out the door each morning. I hope he enjoyed his first day. xx

  5. He's such a big boy now! It's such a bittersweet experience to see them reach milestones like this. Did you shed a tear or two?

Had to laugh about the boy going to town on his crotch. Grandson #1 has developed quite the fascination with his lately. :)

  6. Little poppet! It does go too fast, and what's worse it still goes fast after the youngest chicken starts school too. Seeing all these first day at school photos has made me realise I have four days til mine go back next Monday and I still have lots to do :-) Mx

  8. Oh my goodness, is that all three in school? What will you do in a quiet house now?

  9. Goodness, I can feel the tears prickling. (much like that little boy could feel his crotch prickling). When my youngest started school I swung between feeling free as a bird and so very sad and a little envious of other mums with little ones hands to hold. Now that goodness they are all so happy to go off to school and I am relieved to be able to think a whole thought without interruption.

  10. I'm guessing that's the fun part in Fun and Vj's. What did you have before VJ's. Did you replace it with real ones or the same stuff as downstairs?
Those little tackers do make the heart a tad full sometimes, don't they?

  11. How lovely that all of his early memories will be of the Sow's Ear and his mum and dad doing all of those renovations. I am sure he's learned many good lessons watching you both at work...he probably has a penchant for fluoro work gear already!

  12. Wow that seemed so fast - probably also as I read the whole first 2 years of your blog in one night! Enjoy this milestone moment, he certainly looks like he just jumped right in, no dramas. Maybe it's time for a midcentury house reno now you have all this time on your hands! mel x
