I always say this when we renovate a room...but it is amazing what a difference a coat of paint makes to an entire space.
We painted the boys' ceiling and are now on to the final coat for the walls. We've undercoated it and have done one top coat. We'll finish the second coat tonight...because we are groovers and spend our Friday nights painting...cra..cra..crazy!

I'm also organising some of the decorative elements for the room. Last year, my mate Jo from Desire to Inspire gave us a few reproduction Cuban movie poster prints which are just amazing. I've been meaning to frame them for a long time, so this room renovation is a perfect excuse to get them ready. The boys' are cool with them as well and I've been given the green light to hang them in their room.

Anyway, that is the state of play with the boys' room at the moment. Hopefully we're on target to get the room ready for the final reveal in a couple of weeks time... Stay tuned!

Looking good. Splashing a bit of white paint around here at the mo too. Like the posters.
ReplyDeleteHello:
ReplyDeleteThe Cuban film poster are so very dramatic and will, we are sure, give the boys' room additional impact. It is a good thing that they like them too.
Now, painting ceilings would not be our chosen occupation.
Love those posters! Do not love the idea of painting at wine time on a Friday night, especially end of term - although wine and painting are probably not a good combo!!
ReplyDeleteCan you tell me the name of the white paint you are using on the boy's room, please?
ReplyDeleteThere was a time, long ago, when Friday nights used to end somewhere in the wee hours of Saturday morning, and quite often resulting in a rather bad headache. At least painting (and blogging about it) doesn't produce a hangover. I'm usually too exhausted to be up later than 9pm. xx
ReplyDeleteThe posters look great! Give 'em back ;)
ReplyDeleteAs a veteran of painting one louvred cupboard door myself, I can say with authority that the things are a bloody curse. Indeed, and you must never tell anyone this, I lost my courage and never painted the insides. Does Jason have a secret high-efficiency method of tackling them?
ReplyDeleteI haven't called by since I asked what on earth you were going to blog about, now that you had finished the major renovation of Sow's Ear. I should have know better. Keep up the good work.
ReplyDeleteThose posters are amazing, and I'm falling in love with white paint. I see lots of it in my future. I can't wait to see the big reveal. I know the boys must be excited about their new room.
ReplyDeleteLooking good! You already know my thoughts on the posters xxx
ReplyDeleteThose windows are stunning, presumably an original feature of the house? Colours in the glass just wonderful.
ReplyDeleteLooking fabulous! No more closed door on this room I'm thinking! xx
ReplyDeleteLove those posters, especially the first one. And gorgeous ceilings too, reminded me I need to share Betsy's as they are pretty gorgeous too. Mel x
ReplyDeleteWhere are your fabulous white picture frames from ?
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone!!
ReplyDeleteAnon 1 the paint colour is Dulux low sheen wash and wear vivid ie just the off the shelf untainted white.
Anon 2 would you believe they are from Masters. They were a perfect fit for my prints and already had the mat board. They are timber too.
Your boys' room will look excellent and very groovy. And different too from other kids' rooms. I like what's happening here. I need to send a note to Jo.
