Who is Faux Fuchsia...?

...she is a woman who has never met a sequin she didn't like. That's who.

flammable frock (it's vintage French polyester...) and paint splattered toes in  the only sparkly shoes  I own

With that in mind, I made sure I wore my sparkliest thongs and my very best vintage polyester frock for a casual bloggers lunch at the Corner Store Cafe in Toowong.

The quinoa salad was good.

Not that it mattered as everyone was too busy talking to be bothered by all that jazz. Although, it must be stated for the record that Faux Fuchsia was impeccably coiffed and groomed. She also had the most beautiful shade of pink lipstick. Very glamorous, as were the rest of the lunching crew (A-M, The Distressed MotherAnnie). It was very enjoyable and good to catch up with fun people in this blogging caper.

Faux Fuchsia, baby and THE Chanel bag which  Annie and I stroked inappropriately
And in other hard hitting news, poor old Jason fell off the ladder the other day. It was a spectacular fall from the six foot step ladder when he was painting the ceiling. He lost his balance and fell back onto some steel posts, with the back of his thighs receiving the full brunt of the impact.

Have a look at his bruises... (especially for his fans who are missing the lack of man flesh they are so accustomed to, now that Jason is Mr Hi-Vis)

Jason's very tender bruises...

Thank goodness he didn't break anything...he picked himself up, brushed himself down and after a few minutes break to catch his breath, he got back on that ladder and finished the job. Now that is a trooper.

  4. Hello:
One can well imagine what a jolly time it was at the Corner Store Café when the greatest bloggers in Toowong hit town. Indeed, were the good citizens of Toowong prepared for the invasion? Is news of the Blogger meet [or Bleet as we are reliably informed]now splashed across every periodical in Australia?

Now, whilst we are, of course, keen to know about the exact shade of Faux Fuchsia's lipstick, the Chanel handbag, the glittery sandals and thong and the food which was consumed, what we should love to know is all the latest gossip......please, spill those beans!!!!

  5. Yowch, poor Jason! Do you think it was the inappropriate wearing of hi-viz inside the house that reflected off a mirror, bedazzled his retinas and caused the fall? Good work pulling of a bloggy lunch session too! mel x

  6. Geez Louise that looks painful. Such a trooper. Maybe he should get a bit of insurance on those pins. He has an obligation to his fans you know to stay pretty. Just saying...

  7. Jane and Lance...you would blush if you heard the goings on in blogland. Truly!
Mel, so funny re cause of fall. So much for safety wear.
Just Martha good to hear you're still a fan. Jason has a soft spot for you all. xx

  9. As a hardcore Jason fan I feel compelled to comment. Those bruises are terrible. What a trooper indeed. My man of the house would no doubt have insisted I take him to a hospital stat as he has shall we say a lower pain threshold than Jason it would seem. I like Mel's theory about the hi-vis glare contributing to the accident. Just tell him to leave his shirt off and it will be much safer and we will all be much happier. Glad you had a nice lunch xx

  10. Your dress and sparkly shoes are more than worthy of Faux Fuchsia. In fact, so glamorous were you from the waist down for the occasion that poor injured Jason was possibly out of his league.

  14. OMG it really was a decent fall.... poor Jason.... his injuries look so painful! I too made sure I wore a good frock, despite the fact that I did 2 hours of heavy lifting in the shed in it prior to our lunch. The sacrifices we make in the name of fashion and glamour. Well I couldn't eat dinner, after that slab of steak.... mind you I was the only one who scoffed dessert as well. It was such a lovely day. I tell you, that Faux Fuchsia is the reason I wear frocks and heels and pearls to my shed. She's changed lives. A-M xx

  16. That woman even wears a toddler with style!

Poor Jason. It was inevitable with all that time up a ladder. So pleases he's ok!

  17. What great lunch companions! I'm sure you all had a wonderful time. The food looks scrumptious, as does that Chanel bag and your sparkly sandals. Jason's bruises make me cringe. I fell off a ladder once and looked very much like that. I also slid down a flight of icy stairs on my arse once. We won't even talk about those bruises!

  18. OMg poor Jason. Good thing he didn;t do worse damage. My cousin fell of a ladder while working outside and a 4 foot garden stake went right through him, under his man parts and up and out through his back. He had to be airlifted with stake in situ to hospital. First police offices on the scene vomited. Luckily my aunt was there and is a nurse. It missed all vital organs and male parts still work...despite a long surgery to remove splinters.

  19. It's amazing that Jason hasn't tumbled before this with all the years of ladder climbing and painting he's done...maybe he tripped wearing those new boots of his..can be tricky! My husband actually broke his leg while coming off a step ladder..a very small one..at Parliament House in Canberra while painting there a few years ago. Jason was very lucky not to break anything.
