I'm just going to do a pictorial blog post tonight regarding our tile painting experiment.
In a nutshell, it's worked far better than we ever, ever expected.
In my next blog post, I will go into some more detail about the whole bathroom makeover, particularly if you are contemplating using tile paint as a renovation option.
For now, you can just have a quick squizz at the nice fresh bathroom feeling that we are currently enjoying.

The white tile paint has completely covered the old tile border feature. You'd never know...maybe... |

New ladder towel rail |

I bought a new resin soap dispenser bottle. And love that it is so plain. |
Remember to read the next post where we tell you our thoughts on tile painting and show you more photos.
Love it. Great job!!

Thanks for that Lesley! xx
DeleteIt looks so good! x
ReplyDeleteI know. So pleased it worked out. xx
DeleteAnita, it looks fantastic! So glad you did it first so you can give me all the tips. Betsy has a tiny extra toilet and shower that are on par with your bathroom before shots so it gives me hope to see that without major expense I can make it look gorgeous. All that white, bliss. mel x
ReplyDeleteThanks Mel. You were the main force behind us painting those tiles, you know! xx
DeleteLooks great Anita! Nothing better than a fresh, new look!
ReplyDeleteI thought you'd like the fresh new bathroom, Elizabeth. Thanks. xx
DeleteOh, it looks so nice and clean and fresh, just what a bathroom should be, very inviting:-) I love those great windows with the clear and yellow glass, wonderful feature!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Tove. Yes, we are very lucky to have such colourful windows in these old Queenslander homes. xx
DeleteIt looks great but my favourite bit is the towel ladder. We have too many towels for a rail so this might be the solution. Is yours just a plain hang it on the wall one?
ReplyDeleteYou've done a lovely job on it.
We had a ladder rail in our last place which worked well. And it's just the plain old one ie not heated. You'd probably need a couple though for your brood, Annie. xx
DeleteSince I watched the progress of this tile paint I have completely changed my tact with realestalking! Instead of thinking "needs bathroom gutted, will be horrible living with it until we can afford it" I now think "We can paint the tiles white like Anita did! And then gut it and install a new bathroom". Haha. So now I have even more properties to mull over! I die!
ReplyDeleteOh thanks Rosana. We thought this would buy us some more time before we decide on the final bathroom design and also to save the money to do a full reno. xx
DeleteWOW-looks so good!! Where os your towel ladder from? Amazing what some paint does!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Sweetness. I've out where the ladder is from in my follow-up post here.xx

wow, that's incredible the coverage and shimmer it creates on the tiles... I have seen the poly spray used before, but i didn't know you could get such a good result from painting it on !!! well done !!!
ReplyDeleteIt surprised us as well. We'll see how long it last though. Thanks L. xx
DeleteIt really does look good. Great job!
ReplyDeleteOh thanks! xx
DeleteLooks amazing! I bet you're wondering why you didn't do it sooner! Good to know there's a budget-friendly option for bathroom renos.
ReplyDeleteYes, exactly my thoughts. I didn't think tile paint would look any good. xx
DeleteSo fresh and clean looking! You would never dream that old cream tiles were behind that layer of sparkling white!
ReplyDeleteI know Carol. It's like a completely different room. xx
