I made an impromptu purchase of some new quilt covers for the youngest boys' beds.
Bedding for boys is tricky if you don't want to take the TV/movie character path and want something fairly simple but affordable.
The new cotton covers are Sheridan factory seconds. Yeah, and they were B Grade seconds too. We ooze class at the Sow's Ear. Yes, we do.
Apparently, the colours on the fabric are meant to be more vibrant. I thought they were just fine myself and bought them because they were not at all expensive.
The pattern reminds me of something comforting like pyjamas or even flannelette sheets. They'll look even better when the room is finally painted...sometime in the near future.
The boys like their new covers. Fortunately, they are easy to please. Tout nouveau, tout beau.

Nice! I bought my boy a new doona cover and a couple of sets of sheets from Sheridan at DFO last year. They look fab. The price was fantastic, especially for 100% cotton.
ReplyDeleteTDM x
They are very nice. They do remind me of old-fashioned flannelette sheets. I'm guessing they're a lighter cotton though. So long as they were cheaper than Orla Kiely sheets - a one-bedroom apartment is cheaper than a set of Orla Kiely sheets.
ReplyDeleteIt's getting coolish, isn't it Madame?
Thanks TDM!
ReplyDeleteMMMC, it is a lighter cotton but it seriously was a bargain - the price of the two single doona covers would be the equivalent of one Orla Kiely pillow case. x
I really like the now muted once vibrant colours. All you need now is MMMC to whip you up some pj shorts in the same fabric and the boys can hide in bed and you won't be able to find them. Great pillow combination and placement by the way.
ReplyDeleteI like their stripy freshness. I too find it hard to buy boys linen as I so do not choose to take the character/ superhero path. Nice choice.
ReplyDeletemy gosh they are gorgeous !!!
ReplyDeleteI want some for me!!!
I like them very much. My older girl had Barbie sheets (given to her by grammie) when she was little and I got rid of them as soon as I could!
ReplyDeleteThere is something cosy and retro about those stripes - good choice!
ReplyDeleteThey are beautiful and classy, exactly what I would have if I were a boy. Sure I'd have them myself anyhow.
ReplyDeleteThese are great, just like some vintage flanelette sheets. I like the paleness of them :)
ReplyDeletelovely colors! happy Saturday!
ReplyDeletewow..it's already Sunday in Australia :-)
ReplyDeletelove them...they look great!!
ReplyDeleteI like!!Can't beat stripes for boys.
ReplyDeleteThey look great. Where did you get them? I like the look of the knitted pillow case too. Stripes are great for boys. Frankie has had the same stripey sheets since he was about 12 they never grow out of them.
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone!
ReplyDeleteKatherine, just in the Sheridan outlet at Mt Gravatt.
Yes most definitely remind me of old-school flannelette sheets - I just love them! Good choice, well done.
