The sunroom: a work in progress |
But this is real time DIY painting/renovating while living in the Sow's Ear with a young family. We are no Speedy Gonzales', that's for sure.
At least you know what we are up to this fine weekend in Brisbane...
Retro Parker dining chairs from the early 70s |
It gives us a taste of how our retro furniture will look when the room is finished.
Teaky goodness. I like that. And I for one have always enjoyed watching paint dry. Very therapeutic.
ReplyDeleteit will look gorgeous when done. The floorboards look great against the white too!
ReplyDeleteI think it's going to look spectacular. Well, it already does. Great work. I could imagine how difficult it'd be, with children, to try and get finished.
ReplyDeleteKeeping it real. Real time. I agree the floorboards are a great contrast next to the white. We've made like ostrich's and had our heads in the sand at the beach today. Now home and feel guilty that we've not done anything, but hey, tomorrow's another day!
ReplyDeleteThat green looks fabulous against the vibrant white. Can't wait to see the finished product. Enjoy the Brisbane sunshine - I know I am! Ange
ReplyDeleteIt might seem like it's taking a long time but at least you guys are actually doing something!! I'm hanging out to do something here, it's driving me batty.
ReplyDeleteYour walls look great and your furniture is going to look fab in there. So nice and fresh!!
I am just such a fan of white walls and timber floors. It looks so fresh. I l-o-v-e your Parker chairs...
ReplyDeleteNever apologise for the white or the slow progress. Whenever I feel despondant that Betsy's makeover is happening so much slower than I would like, there is nothing better than a little visit over to the sow's ear to see where we are heading. Hoping to get a bit of white splashed around here during Easter hols. Love the colour and texture of those chairs. I actually found some towels in those exact colours and stripes at an op shop last week and vacillated over them for a good 10 minutes but put them back as I couldn't think of a project for them.
ReplyDeleteTeaky goodness is coming along nicely. How can anyone get anything done fast and still be looking after little ones. The parkers look very at home.
ReplyDeleteWatching paint dry is very relaxing, love the "teaky goodness"
ReplyDeleteI think the white is the perfect backdrop to those chairs and all your mid Century bits.
ReplyDeleteI love white walls. They look so fresh and clean. However, I do not like white snow falling in April.
ReplyDeleteIt's looking good. Any chance of a white-painted floor too, for that wonderful illusion of floating furniture, or would that be going too far and covering good wood?
ReplyDeleteThe white looks amazing and I hear you.... Everything seems to take for ever when you do it yourselves. ;-)
ReplyDeleteIt looks so bright. I love the apple green against it...I could see the door apple green on the inside...but I am odd, cheers Katherine
ReplyDeleteAhhh, I too feel like we move at a snail's pace in the townhouse. Truly, I feel like I should blog once a month to chronicle progress. The rest of the time, I'm distracted by other people's lovely progress & blog about that!!
ReplyDeleteYour white room looks lovely. And your furniture is great! Can't wait to see it set up. But I'll be patient . . . ;)
Oh - p.s. I love Katherine's idea of an apple green door . . .
ReplyDeleteLooking fab!
ReplyDeleteMight I suggest though that if you're going to subject us to posts of watching paint dry, the least you could do is give us some pics of your shirtless husband :p
TDM xx
Thanks for all your encouragement! You guys are the best! xx
